ELECTION OF-PRESIDENT
YUAN-SHIH-KAI CHOSEN.
PEKING, Oct 6
The ballot for the election of a President of the Chinese Republic lasted twelve hours, 759 members voting.
There were twenty nominations including Dr Sun-Vat-Sen, the exPremier.
The first ballot was inconclusive. Yuan-Shih-Kai, the provisional President secured 471 votes and Li-Yuan-Heng 154.
The second ballot likewise was inconclusive Yuan-Shih-Kai getting 497 votes and Li-Yuan-Heng 162.
On the third ballot Yuan-Shih-Kai was elected with 507 votes. Li-Yuan-Heng secured only 179
