' COMMISSION EXAMINES ,MR COLVIN, M.P.

. U ■ WELLINGTON, Oct. 7. Yesterday's sittings of the Westport Harbour Board Commission was devoted to hearing the evidence of Mr Colvin, M.P. for Buller, who was for many years a member of the Board. He replied to several charges which had been made against himself in connection with acquiring a pastoral in certain lands belonging to the board, and contended that the allegations had been made when political feeling ran high. There never had been any objection by the Harbour Board or anyone else to his acquiring the land.
