WELLINGTON, Sept. 11
It was announced laa* evening that Sir Joseph Ward had intimated his acceptance of the leadership of the Liberal party in the House of Representatives.
Interviewed, Sir Joseph Ward said he had no intention of issuing a manifesto or delivering a policy speech at present. When the proper time arrived, he would submit Ms policy, which would be in accord with the past history and achievements of the Liberal party, whose future policy would aim at the extension and development in every direction of legislation that would tend to increase prosperity and assist the masses. The cost of living would be dealt with firmly and with determination. He confidently looked forward to the support of the progressive forces of the country. His reluctance to accept the responsibility of leadership had been overcome by the general and cordial nature of the representations made to him.
