GENEROUS RESPONSE FORTHCOMING. There has been a very ready response to the appeal made by the "Northern Advocate" yesterday for subscriptions to assist the Ffye family, o£ Parahaki. Quite a number of people called at our office to-day with donations. Some of these stated that they knew the family well, and were quite satisfied that a more deserving case had never been brought under their noticeIn addition to burying .her two sons ■within five months, Mrs Fyfe buried Tier mother three months ago, and all these troubles, one on top of the other, have depleted the .flamily purse, and a heap of debt has been piled up, which should be materially reduced by the aid of the present sub- . list. Yesterday, through an •scuracy, it was stated that the cost Recent medical and other expenses urred in connection !with Mrs Fyfe's recent illness, amounted to £50. The figure should have been £30, and this has not been paid. Mr B. de Tourret will give a benefit on Monday night at the Lyceum Cinema, and on Tuesday week a benefit will be given at the Queen's Theatre by Mr Val Atkinson.
