A BIG BLAZE.
LONDON, Sept. 4
A fire in a bonded store at Bridgewater Canal, Manchester, did damage estimated at a quarter of a million pounds.
The warehouse was gutted. Immense crowds were attracted by the flames, which rose to a height of 500 feet.
The firemen had a heavy task in saving the adjoining property. Three thousand bales of cotton and two thousand cases of print goods and much merchandise and oil were destroyed.
