WOOLLOOMOOLOO TRAGEDY.
WIFE SHOOTS HUSBAND
ACCUSED ACQUITTED

SYDNEY, Sept. 4
Mrs Donne, charged with shooting her husband William Joseph Donne on August 7th, at Woolloomooloo, has been acquitted.
The verdict of the jury was that the weapon went off accidentally.
The accused on hearing the verdict exclaimed, "Oh, thank God; I did not mean to kill him, my dear boy!"
A cable message on the day of the tragedy stated that Mr and Mrs Donne had been living apart for some days, and that Mrs Donne went to the shop where her husband was employed as a butcher's salesman The couple were talking quietly together outside, when suddenly a shot was fired and Donne fell down, expiring immediately.
