A most interesting letter from the Children's Bureau, Washington, U.S., and forwarded from the American Consulate, Auckland, by the courtesy of Mr Bachelder, vice-consul, was read at a meeting of the Society for Health of Women and children, held in Auckland on Friday. In it more data regarding the society was asked for, and a great tribute of praise was paid to its work shown in the lowered inflant mortality resulting. The letter went on to say: "The fact that New Zealand has been recognised for some years as offering the most favourable death rate in the world and that that has been markedly reduced since the latest publications, gives to any information you can afford us a particular value.''
