HAWKER'S FLIGHT ROUND BRITAIN.

AIRMAN FALLS 100 FEET. FRACTURES ARM AND INJURES HEAD. LONDON, Aug. 27. In endeavouring to reach Falmouth to-day in order to complete the circuit of Britain before 9.30 on Thursday morning, Hawker, the Australian airman, was delayed an hour in leaving Oban (where he anchored last night) by a leaky float, and, later, lost three hours through engine troubles. His difficulties culminated in an accident at Lough Shining, where a wing snapped and the machine fell a hundred feet into the sea.

Coastguards rescued and conveyed the airmen ashore where they were attended by doctors.

This race against time has created interest all over the country. Sir G. Reid telegraphed the aviators: "Win or lose, Australia is proud of you both."
