WOOLLOOMOOLOO TRAGEDY.
HUSBAND SHOT BY WIFE,
WOMAN FOUND GUILTY OF
WILFUL MURDER,

SYDNEY, Aug. 27
At the inquest on the body of William Joseph Donne, who was on August 7 shot dead by his wife at Woolloomooloo, the evidence showed that the couple had a misunderstanding. The husband sent for his boxes on the morning of the tragedy, but vis wife refused to give them up. She went to the shop where he was working armed with a revolver. She declared that she did not intend to shoot, 'but the weapon went off by accident.
A verdict oi! wilful murder was returned against Mrs. Donne, who excitedly cried, " You cannot call it murder —not wilful murder."
A cable message on the day of the tragedy stated that Mr. and Mrs. Donne had been living apart for some days; and that Mrs. Donne went to the shop where her husband was employed as a butcher's salesman. The couple were talking quietly together outside, when suddenly a shot was fired, and Donne fell down, expiring immediately.
