NEGRO JOHNSON RECEIVES OVATION.
A PANDEMONIUM OF ENTHUSIASM. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) LONDON, Aug. 26. Spectators in the pit and gallery of the Euston music-hall demanded Jack Johnson's appearance. ' Men rose in their seats heaving their caps into the air and uttering cat-calls and jeers. The pandemonium in the hall prevented two lady artistes, who had refused to appear on the same stage as Johnson, from singing. Meanwhile a mob outside gave an ovation to Johnson, who entered the hall, and was wildly cheered, though some spectators gave vent to hostile shouts and hooting. A similar scene occurred at the South London Music-hall. Johnson, from a box, thanked the gathering for bis reception, and drove back to the second house at the Euston Music-hall, where he was again cheered.
