BLACKBALL STRIKE.
AVEST COAST MINERS TAKE BALLOT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WESTPORT, Aug. 26. It is understood that the miners employed at the various collieries on the West Coast will take a ballot on three issues: (1) Whether they will support the Blackball men or not; (2) whether they will stop work if any company loads Blackball boats; (3) whether they will refer the question to the executive of the Federation of Labour. .
Two Blackball steamers have been despatched loaded, and a third is loading to-day.
It is reported that it was the original intention of the Blackball Company to send their steamers to Newcastle, but that this order was cancelled.
