LATEST FROM THE WRECK.

CREW BEING LANDED

The latest information received from the wreck shows that the Devon will probably be a total loss. There are 60 men aboard, and these are being landed by a life-line at the rate of about six an hour. The vessel has a thousand tons of general merchandise from Montreal aboard. The sea is still rough.

The Devon is a steel screw steamer of 6059 tons, length 400 ft, breadth 54ft, depth 28.7, and owned by the Federal Steam Navigation Company, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company.
