POCKET-BOOK SAVES HIS LIFE.
A CONSTABLE SHOT AT. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) SYDNEY, Aug. 25. While Senior-Constable Charlton was assisting to arrest a man the latter fired two shots at him at a distance of a few feet. A pocketbook over the constable's heart saved his life. The other bullet pierced the policeman's umper and grazed his back.
