DIVORCE COURT CENSOR.

FOR PRESS AND NOVELIST. (" Sydney Sun " Service.) LONDON, Aug. 21. At the Journalists' Conference, Mr. Phillips, editor of the "Yorkshire Post," read a paper dealing with" the decision of the House of Lords regarding the hearing of divorce suits in camera It would be ridiculous, he said, to allow the sale of some novels, which dealt with Divorce Court incidents in a grosser manner than anything the slackest newspaper published. Mr. Phillips did not object to severe restriction on newspapers, but believed that it was necessary to apply the same censorship to novelists and playwrights. Mr. F. Donald, editor of the "Chronicle," agreed, stating that the greatest care was necessary in sub-editing divorce case reports.
