No epidemic cases have been reported in the city or suburbs for thirteen days. As smallpox takes twelve days to develop after personal contact the prospect of a total subsidnce of the disease is hopeful. . Eight more patients were discharged from the isolation hospital this morning, making 26 released. Fifty patients remain. Two natives at Kaikohe were admitted to the islation hospital there yesterday. No other cases are reported from the country districts. The Chief Health Officer states that no exception will be made in the vaccination regulations with respect to the English Parliamentary party on arriving from Vancouver. WELLINGTON, Aug. 23. To-day's official bulletin states that there are fresh cases in Auckland. Four new cases are reported at Kaikohe, two at Orakau, one at Tautoro.
