INDIA URGED TO TAKE A HAND.
CO-OPERATION WITH DOMINIONS
DELHI, Aug. 21
The " Civil and Military Gazette" at Lahore, in a series of articles, urges that the Indian Ocean dependencies should supply the nucleus of an Eastern Defence system consisting of a fleet and an expeditionary force to co-operate with the dominions, secure naval concentration where needed, safeguard seaborn trade, and supply reinforcements for Egypt and India, besides providing against the new naval factors that have arisen in the Pacific.
