The deceased came to Whangarei from Babylon, in the Kaipara district, some three or four months ago to become an inmate of the old peoples' home, but as there was no vacancy he had been staying at the boarding house He had been in indifferent health for some time and on Sunday Dr .Good, who had been called in to see him, directed that he should be removed to the hospital for treatment As, however, he subsequently seemed to be recovering, this rcommendation was not carried out. Yesterday afternoon the old man became worse and efforts to secure a visit from a medical man failed, all of the doctors being, at the time, engaged or away from home.
