TO BE CUT OFF.
On the motion of the Mayor, seconded by Cr Dent, it was resolved: — That notices be inserted in the papers that extraordinary supply users will be cut off if the present shortage continues, and that they be cut off in the order that will cause least public inconvenience. Cr Jackson said the by-laws provided for a month's notice before editing off extraordinary suppliers. The Mayor corrected this statement. In the present case, he said, they could cut off the suppliers immediately after publication of the notice. The engineer was the person to decide what would cause least inconvenience. LEAKY TAPS. Mr I. W. Moore (Borough Inspector,) reported that he had made an inspection of the business portion of the town. He had found several leaky taps, and had given the owners notice to have them repaired immediately. SPECIAL CONSIDERATION. Mr Driver waited on the Council and asked that his fruit canning factory should receive special consideration, as this was his busy season. He had to use about 500 gallons of water per day. The Mayor said the case would receive earnest consideration. WATERING GARDENS. It was decided, on 'the suggestion of Cr Jackson, to prohibit the use of the borough supply for watering gardens.
