A SALVAGE CASE.

SUPREME COURT DECISION,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, Nov. 20

■*"*" Judgment was given yesterday in the "Wanganui" salvage case. The Court was of opinion that when the Wanganui was sighted by the Kapiti and spoken to by her and when she was taken in tow by the Arapawa she was not in a dangerous position. She was, however, in a more or less dangerous position and it would have been wrong of the master of the Wanganui to have refused assistance. Looking at all the circumstances the Court considered that it should award £300 without costs and deduct £25 for costs to respondent. No pronouncement was made as to what sujn should be paid to each vessel, but the Court was of opinion that should be awarded to the crew.
