BRISBANE, Feb. 13
The Governor issued a proclamation forbidding unlawful assemblies, and a copy was served by the police or: the strike leaders.
This was followed by a remarkable mobilisation cf police near the Trades Hall.
The Bush Mounted Constabulary appeared riding in fours, .with their right sleeves rolled up and holding their batons alcft. They were joined later by a band of Mounted Special Constables .carrying rifles with fixed bayonets. Altogether three thousand mobilised and the strikers abandoned their usual mass meeting. SYDNEY, Feb. 14. In sympathy with the Brisbane strike the Newcastle trimmers have decided not to handle any coal destined for Brisbane.
