ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING.

NEW ZEALAND AMALGAMATION

The annual meeting of tho North Island Band Association was held this morning. The President's report mentioned that the Masterton, Whangarei, and Timaru bands had joined the Association, while Blenheim had resigned. The executive regretted that there was not a larger representation at the present contest.

Referring to the clash of dates with the South Island Association, the report said there was a probability of such not occurring again, as it was possible that the South Island Association would meet the North Island Association with a view to amalgamating, which would undoubtedly be better for all parties and decidedly in the interest of the bands contesting.

No application had been made for a 3 913 contest. It was possible, in the event of amalgamation, that the next contest would go to the South Island.
