N.S. WALES v. S. AUSTRALIA. AN EIGHT WICKETS WIN. (Received Jan. 11, 8.21 a.m.) ADELAIDE, Jan. 10. New South Wales won the Sheffield Shield cricket match against South Australia by 8 wickets. The South Australian second innings realised 286. Murray scored 36, Webster 39, and Quist (not out) 44. Sundries contributed no fewer than 42 runs. Cotter took 2 wickets for 90; Kelleway, 1 for 34; Hazlett, 3 for 36; Emery, 4 for 47. New South Wales lost two wickets hi their second innings before obtaining the 28 runs necessary to win. Cotter scored 8, and Gregory 13 not out. Whitty and Crawford each captured a wicket. The final position was as follows: — S. Australia, Ist innings . . 261 S. Australia, 2dn innings . . 286 547 N.S.
