A CHALLENGE.

(To the Editor.)

.- Sir, —Elsewhere in this issue I draw attention to the fact that I have so much faith in my auxiliary fishing boat the "Hiliary" that I have challenged Mr Jackson, of the "Silver Grid," and owner of the auxiliary fishing boat "Akau," for a race, from Grahamtown round the Poor Knights and back, for a wager of from £20 to £50. The only condition is that the race takes place on New Year's Day, and the. finish will therefore be witnessed large number of spec, tators wflfcr, without doubt, will attend the Regatta. When a man talks he should abide by what he says, and I trust that my letter will cause Mr jj&ckson to accept the challenge or climb down. He is, I take it, bound to put up, or shut up."—l am, etc.
