"BLACKGUARD AND BRUTE."

A DRUNKEN HUSBAND.

DELICATE WIFE OBTAINS JUSTICE

AUCKLAND, Dec. 19

"The words 'blackguard' and 'brute' adequately express my opinion of you," said Mr Kettle, S.M., yesterday, when granting an application for separation made by a delicate little woman against her husband, a laborer. "Further than this, you lied to me in stating that you had never been drunk in your life. Respectable witnesses have come here and testified to your drunken habits. I would not ask any woman to live with a blackguard like you; you are too low and filthy."

An order was made for payment of 30s a week towards the of the wife and the two young children.
