CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.
POSTAL AND TELEGRAPH AR-
RANGEMENTS.
Mondays, the 25th December and Ist January (Christmas Day and New Year's Day), will be observed as close holidays by the Postal branch. On Tuesday, the 26th December (Boxing Day), the Post-office will be open in all branches except moneyorder and savings bank, from 9 a.m. to
10 a.m. On the evenings of Saturdays, the 23rd and 30th December, all receivers and posting boxes will be cleared at 6.30
On Mondays, December 25th and January Ist (Christmas Day and New Year's Day) all mails for despatch will close at 7.15 a.m. A second full delivery will be made by letter carriers on the afternoons of the 23rd and 30th instant. On the 26th instant one complete delivery by letter carriers will be made; each carrier will start on his walk at 7.30 a.m. The usual despatch of mails up to 8 a.m. will be made. On Saturday evening, 23rd, a delivery of letters (registered as well as ordinary) will be male over the counter between 7 and 8 o'clock. A similar arrangement will be carried out between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturady, the 30th instant.
Sunday hours will be observed in the private lobbies on the 25th December and Ist January; usual hours on the 26th December.
On Monday (Christmas Day) the Telegraph Office will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
On Tuesday (Boxing Day) and the following Monday (New Year's Day) the Telegraph Office Will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to _ p.m. On Tuesday, the 26th instant, and Monday, the Ist prox.. the Telephone Exchange will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. only.
