MR STANDER'S TOUR.
EUTHUSIASTIC RECEPTIONS. Yesterday afternoon Mr Mander held a splendid open-air meeting at Leigh, near Warkworth. He was enthusiastically received, and a vote of thanks and confidence was carried with cheers. After the meeting the electors crowded around the candidate, expressed sympathy with him in his illness, and assured him that they were on his side. In the evening Mr Mander addressed a crowded meeting at Matakaua, where - he was again given a most enthusiastic welcome. Applause frequently punctuated his remarks, and at the close three cheers were given for Mr Mander and Marsdon. A Good judges are of the Mr Mander will score fully 90 per cent, of the votes in the farming districts, and that he will be returned with a 600 majority. Even Mr Purdie's supporters admit their candidate will not succeed in ousting the man who is known throaghout the district as the best friend the electors have. They say Mr Mander stands so high in the esteem of the people that no man in the electoi'ate could oust him at the present time; but they expect that M" Purdie will get majorities at Kiripaka and Limestone Island.
