AMUSEMENTS.
The entertainment . committee are advertising a Basket Social to be tu:ld iv the Public Kail on Friday, 3rd November, and should they be favoured with fine weather the venture promises to be a success. The proceeds are to be demoted to a good cause, which is to once again free the Hall building of deht. When the new ancerooms were added to the Hall, funds fell short by £10, consequently the necessity to borrow and now the desirability of being free once again.
The dancing classes are being well patronised by the youth and beauty of the various districts, and are maintaining the popularity of Ruatangata as a place for amusement and sociability. WEATHER. Farmers are pleased with the recent rains, which were badly needed fer all kinds of vegetation. The cream supply to the factory will in consequence be on the increase. TESTING ASSOCIATION. ' The next dates for taking samples of milk will be the 21st and 22nd of the month. Settlers are taking a general interest in the matter and eagerly await the results of the testing, ,which, by the way, is posted to them some few weeks after the samples are sent.
