Messrs Wilson and Wilson report as follows: —
We held our usual monthly stock sale. at our Junction Yards, Whangarei, on Thursday, April 6th, when 900 head of cattle and 700 sheep were yarded, and nearly all changed hands at satisfactory prices.
Sixty head of beef were yarded, and all sold. Steers, £7 5s to £9 7s 6d; cows, £5 to £7 ss; heifers, £4 15s to £6 12s 6d; store cattle, three to four-year-old steers brought from £5 10s to £ 6 10s; two and a half to threeyears, £5 to £5 10s; two-year-olds, £4 to £4 15s; eighteen-months, £3 to £3 15s; calves, mixed sexes, £1 2s to £3 7s 6d; store cows, £2 2s to £3 7s 6d; forward springers were in good demand and realised from £5 to £9 9s. Full-mouth ewes, 8s 6d to 13s.
We held our opening sale at Waikiekie on Monday, April 10th, when we had a full yarding of both sheep and cattle. Fat steers sold up to £7 7s; fat cows, £5 15s to £6; two to 2% year-old steers, £4 to £4 15s; store rows, £2 ISs to £3 4s 6d; calves, £1 6s 6cl to £1 15s; springers, £3 7s Gd to £6 10s. Full-mouth ewes, 6s 3d.
