TO THE ELECTORS OF WHANGAREI. : LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.—Having been asked by a number of Ratepayers and electors to come out as a Candidate for the Borough Council I have consented. I think I may claiman average interest in the town, seeing I have lived here since ISB4, and have watched the gradual progress and development from Town Board to Borough. I fully realise that right now we have reached a very momentuous point in the history of Whangarei. The most important item before us I consider ,to be the Wairua Electrical Scheme, which should be pushed to a successful issue. Next to this 'comes jihe right expenditure of the loan J moneys, the responsibility of which commences with the future Council. If elected I shall do my best, in the two foregoing items, also any other proposals for the future progress of the Borough.—l am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, JOSEPH PALMER. THOROUGH ELECTIONS. TO THE ELECTORS OF WHANGAREI.—I will be a candidate for a seat on the Borough Council and solicit support and confidence. My policy will be:— Improving the Streets in general, and especially the lighting of the town. Improving on the present condition of building permits and permission to build, also to look into the matter.of acknowledging the present park known as "Mander's Park", and turning the same into public use and benefit.
