The New South Wales Government is asking for a further loan of £250,----000 from the Federal Government, making a total of £950,000. EMPIRE FESTIVAL ATHLETES. MELBOURNE, Feb. 23. The Howard Smith Company's net profits for the year were £61,185, compared with £55,227 for the previous year. A dividend of 10 per centum has been declared. COSTLY LAW PROCESS. MELBOURNE, Feb. 23. The boundary line litigation between Victoria and South Australia is costing £800 daily, and the hearing will probably last six weeks. PRINCE LEOPOLD. SYDNEY, Feb. 23. Prince Leopold of Battenberg, who is an inmate of a private hospital, is reported to be making favorable progress.
