The Hon. Dr. Findlay, Minister for Justice and Attorney-General, arrived in Whangarei by the Ngapuhi this morning. Dr. Findlay will stay here until Tuesday, and will speak in the Theatre Royal to-night on the policy cf the Government.

Interviewed by an "Advocate" reporter this morning, Dr. Findlay said he was in Whangarei to keep a pro--I'iise given on his last visit here Le said he would return and a political address. He also desired to defend the Government against the attacks of Mr Massey, who told the local residents that the Government lolicy was one of shreds and patches, and the Opposition policy one of honesty. He would try to show that ths Government had a clean and definite policy far the good of the people.

Asked if he would speak at Hikurangi o» Monday evening, Dr. Findlay said that he could not visit both Hikurangi and Waipu, and as the "Advocate" was widely circulated in Hikurrangi and many of the residents would be in town to-night, he thought he might say there was no necessity to visit the Northern township and go to Waipu. However, that was a matter for his friends to consider, and he would fall in with the wishes of the local members of the Liberal party. He was sorry he could not make a longer stay in the North; but he was due to leave for Eiigland in about two weeks' time £hd he had a lot to do before he left.

Dr. Findlay was met on his arrival this morning by representatives ol' the Marsden Liberal Association. The Minister is accompanied by Mrs Findlay, Mr E. Poulton (private secretary), aid Mr Wilfred Findlay (son of the Minister), who is well known in the cricketing world, and who played for Wellington in the match against Auckland.
