CONTAGIOUS DISEASES.

DR. FINDLAY'S SCHEME

WELLINGTON, Dec. 10.

Referring to his scheme for dealing nvith contagious diseases, of which a good deal was heard during the last session of Parliament, the Hon. Dr. Findlay said that he hoped to get a committee set up early next session to hear the evidence of medical practitioners and receive reports from the police and gaol officers. Evidence -would also probably be forthcoming from the schools of the Dominion, as •well as reports from abroad. The principal object of the reports would he to establish the extent of the evil. [Experts would be asked to discuss the •proposals which he (Dr. Findlay) has already made. "I am not strongly wedded to every part of vhe proposals I have made," said Dr. Findlay. "I am prepared to modify the proposals if modification will make them more .serviceable or more workable."
