Senator Gore announced in Congress at Washington that he had been offered a bribe of £1000 not to oppose recognition of certain Indian land sales in Oklahoma. The Senator's motion to investigate the sale of Indian lands in Oklahoma was adopted, and Congress then
adjourned.
