WAIPU.
From Our Own Correspondent. 3 The triennial election of the Waipu River Board was held recently for the election of five members of the Board, but as only the required number wore nomiuated, no poll was taken. The Board now consists of Messrs Dan. H. Mckenzie, J. A. Morrison and Gus McKay (who were re-elected), Mr N. J. Campbell (who previously occupied a seat on the Board until through absence from the district he was compelled to resign), and Mr R. R. McKay (who since the Board was first formed six years ago acted as its clerk and treasurer). The other retiring members were Messrs Sam Mclnnes (who lid not seek re-election) and Mr J. A. S. McKay (who has left the district, having taken up his residence in the Pur ua district.) Several of the larmers have been successful in getting their oaten crops aarve&ted, and some of them, are busy getting the stubble ground ploughed md ready to sow a crop of turnips, rhose who have already got them in ire very fortunate, as at present (Tueslay night) some very nice rain is railing.
