THE DRAYTON GRANGE.

THE CAPTAIN'S EVIDENCE. Press Association.— Copyright. Sydney, August 18. At the Drayton Grange inquiry the captain of the ship declared that the vessel was not overcrowded. There was tho same hammock space, and messing provision, as when the steamer carried the New Zealand froops to the Cape. The dirty habits of the men contributed to the sickness. The troopers were a most insubordinate lot, and half the time were in a state of semi-mutiny. There was also a good deal of drinking to excess, and some of the officers were guilty in this respect. The second officer corroborated the captain's evidence.
