SHEEP DIPPING.

_ + An action of considerable interest to sheepowners was brought before the &M. this morning, viz., the Stock Inspector (Mr J. T. Stone) v. F. C. Hillford, Waikeikei, for neglecting to dip 370 sheep. In giving judgment for the plaintiff, and fixing the fine at the minimum fee of 3d per sheeji, the magistrate pointed out that in thene:£t case of this kind in which the Inspector secured judgment, the full penalty of up to 2s per head would be enforced. We understand that in this case no tangible jreason was given for delaying to drp the sheep, so that sheeyI owners had better be on the safe side in the future, and dip their stock at the proper time, or else they risk having to pay 28 per sheep, in addition to having to dip their flocks during the worst months of the year.
