( ' Oicn Correspondent.) Obituary. — Quite a gloom has been cast over this and the adjoining neighbourhood through the death of one of our oldest and most esteemed settlers, Dr. F. B. Graham, who passed away on the 14th inst. The deceased gentleman was one of the first settlers in the Waihou Valley. He was a native of Ecclefeehan, Dumfries, and came to this colony in 1879, taking up land here in the following year. He practised in his profession at Kaeo, and afterwards at Rawene ; only giving up practise a few years ago on account of failing health. H« was universally respected by all who knew him. The deceased gentleman leaves a widow, four daughters and two sons to mourn their loss The funeral took place on the 10th inst.. the body being interred at Okaihau, the large concourse of people who assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to his memory fully testfying to the esteem in he was held. The deceased had arrived at the allotted span of "Three score years and ten."
