KAMU TOWN BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Eamo Town Board was held at the Kamo Town Hall on Monday, December 12th 1887. Present : Commissioners Day, (Chairman), Mclnnis, Whitelaw, and McGregor. The minutes of the previous meeting and the special meeting were read and confirmed;" . CORRESPONDENCE. .From E. Thompson, Esq., M.H.E., promising to assist in obtaining legislation to give Town Boards full control of all roads in their district, and independent of County Councils. From John Munro claiming 15/ for certain work done. On the motion of Cmr. Day, seconded by Cmr. Mclnnis it was resolved to pay Mr Munro the sum claimed. Another claim from Mr '• Munro with reference to some repairing he had done on the road in front of his property, was not granted by the Board From Mr "Walton with reference to the Board taking over the management of the cemetery. Consideration deferred till a deputation had waited on the Board. REPORT. A sub-committee appointed to suggest the best means of expending the Board's money, suggested that a footpath be formed and metalled -3£ feet wide from the Bay of Islands Road to Hall Sjbreet, fc, also from the corner of Hall Street to the L* corner of Buatangata Boad, and from ■^-thence to the Post Office. Also from fl'jßuatangata Road, West side from Hall ■Rltre"*. to the railway bridge. Also that ('.. "Wilson be instructed to lay off I^^Wwfflfi^Ettd draw up. specifications- £<» ft the same. In the event of there not , being sufficient funds to complete the \ whole of the work, that the Board have the right to decide which work be gone on with. On the motion of Cmr. Whitelaw seconded by Cmr. McGregor, the report was adopted. ACCOUNTS. T. Whitelaw, glazing etc., 14/; W. Greeves, cutting furze, £1 o/; W. A. Carruth, professional assistance, £2 2/. The accounts were passed for payment. FINANCE. The monthly balance was read, shpwing a balance at the Bank to the credit of the Board of £57 8/5. Appointment. The appointment of Mr W. A. Smith to the office of returning officer , for the Kamo licensing District was received. This was all the business and the meeting terminated. ,
