THE GOVERNMENT.
Our telegrams indicate a more rapid formation of a Ministry than was expected, and we have not much doubt but that Atkinson will form a much stronger Government than was expected, even by his most ardent friends. From the fact that there is sufficient self-consciousness of administrative ability amongst members to justify the telegram to the effect that there are thirty aspiring politicians expecting portfolios, there seems no lack of material in the new element. At present, however, it is too early to estimate the course of events.
