COLLIERY" ACCIDENT.

Sydney, March 23. A terrible accident, occasioned by explosion of gas, by which 60 persons were entombed, occurred at Bulli Colliery to-day. Accounts to hand state that a sudden and terrific blast of hot air burst from the funnel, and the force of the explosion blocked its mouth. A search party •with difficulty penetrated a distance of three quarters of a mile, when they discovered six charred bodies of adults and the disembowelled remains of a boy. Efforts are being made to get at others entombed who are said to number seventy, but their rescue is believed to be hopeless. Many of the search party were rendered unconscious by foul air.
