A Reminder
Colonel McDonald, the "Independent" candidate in Wellington East, is very angry with Mr. Massey, but not because he has any fundamental differences with the Prime Minister—his trouble is injured vanity and baulked ambition. „ Not so very long ago she was prepared to give the most ready obedience to the autocrat of the Tory Party, but his advances were rejected, and since his condemnation of Massey ism has been painful, frequent,- and free, Wo have just dug this Press Association message from tho "Dominion," March 2i, 1921:— "."''" HAWERA, March 19. Colonel T, W. McDonald, NOT HAVING RECEIVED THE REFORM PARTY'S SUPPORT, has abandoned tho idea of contesting the Patea Byeleetion. He left to-day for the South. The Colonel is thus an "Independent," but,if Mi*. Massey had smiled instead of scowled, he would have been a Tory of the Tories with a front of brass.
