COALMINERS IN TURKEY
A law guaranteeing the safety of workmen and improving their conditions hap been enacted by tlio National Assembly of" tie Turkish Nationalist Government at Angora. Coal miners in the Zongeuldak coal fields were the immediate beneficiaries. The law requires th,at mine owners provide homesi meeting Government regulations, for their employees; that a public bath and ..a mosque be bu'lt for each "district; that- evening, schools must be provided/:arid a'pejiafon fnnd for aged and injured workmen must be established by thie employers. This Is. Turkey's first .Labour legislation.
