NEW SHEARERS' AWARD
Substantial Wage Cut The award filed by "the. Arbitration Court last. week for shearers and shedhands contains . the following wages provisions:—• I•• : 1. -The rate for shearing- by - hand shall not .foe less than £1 4s. per hundred with: • rations. 2. The rate;-for shearing by machine shall not be less than £1 4s. per hundred with rations. 3. The rate for shearing lambs shall not be. less than £1 is. per hundred with rations. 4. In cases where ' shearers find themselves-.iu rations these rates shall be increased; by 5/~ per hundred. RATES OP PAY FOR SHED HANDS. 1. Pressors by the week, £3; by the liour, 1/iO.----.'2. AM other shed hands, by the week £2 fos,: byrthe hour, J/8. 3; Youths- over sixteen years of age and..-.under;-eighteen years of age: By the week, £2; by the hour. :l/C. 4.••■ Cook -For twelve men or under, &3. :105 , .; cooks' assistants, £3 per week. Where over twelve men avo empioyed'the;wages shall be by agreement between the employer and the worker, hut not in any case less than a minimiuri of £3 10s. per week.
