The other evening the little son of a Wellington Socialist was amusing himself with a mechanical toy, his entertainment being shared by a number of grown-ups. Suddenly the mechanism gave way, and the amusement stopped. The little fellow stared gloomily at it for awhile, then threw it aside, re* marking: "It's a masterclass toy; it won't work I"
