Mt. Benger Mail Be Just and Fear Not. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN

The resignation of Mr Neville Chamberlain from his high office of leader of the great Conservative Party in Great Britain and as member of the British War Cabinet will be viewed with mixed feeling by the British pulic. For the past forty-eight years this well known figure has played a prominent part in the political life of Great Britain and, during that long period has filled many important offices. It has been said that peacemakers are blessed and not even his stoutest opponent will deny the sincerity or love of peace which was a noticeable trait in the character of this prominent figure. It may be thought the late Prime Minister’s faults that during his term of office of Great Britain he accepted at its face value the word and character of Hitler. Public opinion will agree that a serious error was made, but let us remember that, “to err is human, to forgive is Divine.” It is almost a thousand years agog since foreign invasion threatened Britain. There have been threats of invasion since then which have given our forbears acute concern. But why has Britain always won through. Because as Neville Chamberlain has said, ‘We must win because we are right.” And now this great peace-maker, faithful servant of his country , target of public criticism, has owing to ill-health, retired from active participation in the affairs of the country he loved and faithfully served for close on half a century. As the years roll on and the scroll of fame unfolds, midst all the famous names in British history our children and grandchildren will see the name of Neville Chamberlain for he was a peace-maker.
