A long list of appointments to the Xing’s household is gazetted. Among the principals are the following ; Lord Oaamberiain; The Earl of Cromer.

Lord Steward: The Duke of Buccieugh and Queensberry.

Master of the Dorse; The Duke of Beaufort.

Treasurer of the Household: Sir George Penny. Comptroller of the Household: Sir Lambert Ward. Vice-Chamberlain of the Household; Sir George Davies. Private Secretary; Major Alexander Hardinge.

Assistant Private Secretaries: Messrs F. H. H. Mitchell and A. P. Lascelles, and Sir Eric Melville,

Keeper of the King’s Archives; Lord Wigram. Keeper of the Privy Purse: Major Ulick Alexander. Financial Secretary to the King: Mr F. P. Robinson. High Almoner; The Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr Cosmo Lang). Under the heading of the Medical Household there are 35 appointments, headed by Lord Dawsen of Penn, Lord. Horder, Sir John Weir, and Sir Maurice Cassidy. The Earl of Athlone is to be Constable and Governor of Windsor Castle.

Mr John Masefield continues to be Poet Laureate.

The appointments include tint of an Australian, Sir Thomas Dunhill, a surgeon, and that of the manager of the New Zealand Olympic Games team, Dr A. E. Porritt, as Surgeon of the Household.
