Prince Edward

ROYAL BABY CHRISTENED

Rugby, Nov. 20. The christening of the sun of the Duke and Duchess of Kent took place in the private chapel at the Buckingham Palace I his afternoon. The infant Prince was named Edward George Nicholas Paul Patrick. The Archbishop of Canterbury performed the baptismal rites. The child was sponsored by seven godparents, including the King and Queen.

At the end of the ceremony their Majesties and other members of the Royal Family, together with the Home Secretary (Sir John Simon), the only representative of the Government present, signed the royal register of births and marriages.

Earlier in the day the names of the infant Prince were inscribed in the City of Westminster register, which was signed by the Duka of Kent,
