ROXBURGH DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL SHOW.

The iSlh annual show hold under the auspices of the Roxburgh School took place in the Roxburgh Hall on Friday afternoon and evening of last week. The show proved quite a success although the entries were not up to those of former years. This was specially the case in the flower section which was the poorest display (as far as entries were concerned) that the school show has staged. The quality of tii 1 (lowers that wore exhibited, however, was quite up to the standard usually reached. A very line display was shown in the vegetable section and also in the fruit section which comprised a very fine quality of slum 1 fruits. The ladies’ handiwork section, the cooking and preserves section, were also well patronised, and (he goods shown in these two sections were of very fine quality. Tin- children’s section as quite up to the high standard set in former years and was the feature of the show. The attendance at afternoon and evening was not as good as in former years, but the weather, which was very cold and windy, may have been the cause of this. The tta-rooms run with the show were well patronised, hat not to the t same extent as in former years. Alliough down in all sections as far finance was concerned, the show committee will be able to show a profit. The officials worked hard in their efforts to make ♦he function a success and it is no fault of theirs that the result was not up to that of other years.
