GRAIN 7 AND PRODUCE REPORT
The Otago Farmers' Co-op., Ltd., reports as follows for the week ended March :Mli :
Wheat.—There is a good demand for all lines offering and a fair number of lines have chamged hands dining the week. Fowl wheat is in short supply and meets with a ready sale at isolations. Prime milling Velvet to Is Id, Velvet Ear and Red Chaff to Is, Tuscan os Best whole fowl wheat 3s i)d to 3s lUd, mediam to good 3s lid to 3s yd per hushel (»acks extra). Uats. - There is a good many oi the new season's oats offering but farmers do not seem inclined to accept the buyers' offers, and consequently a large number of oats are being stored. I'here is a good demand ior lines of heavy Cartons suitable for milling. Prime milling Cartons Is l>.Ul to Is lod, good to best feed Is >id to Is '.»jd, inferior to medium Is 6d to la >d per bushel (sacks extra.) Potatoes.—Consignments have been arriving freely Iroin the North i.nd prices are easier. Thebulk of Hues offering -how signs of disease and are difficult to quit. Choice samples are worth x I 10s per ton, good table to A.' I ss, medium to good £3 lbs to X-l per ton (sacks included). Chaff.—The market is well supplied with ckaff, the bulk of which is light and inferior. Good lines of heavy black oaten are scarce. Best old oaten sheaf £3 Los to J-':'. LTs 6d per ton, best new season's £3 10s to £3 ios, medium £3 to £3 Ts 6d per ton, (bags extra). Grass Seed.—There is still a keen demand for all lines of new season's seed Good hea - >y farmers' (dressed) is worth 2s Id to 2s yd, while light and inferior from Is 9d to 2s 2d per bushel (sack* extra). Cocksfoot.—There is a good demand for all lines of cocksfoot. Good heavy fanners' (dressed) is worth from 3id to Ikd per lb, according to weight ami quality. Barley.—The market has improved during the preseot week and several sales have been recorded at quotations. Prime malting 3s lOd to 3s lid per bushel, good ~ feed from 2s 3d per bushel (sacks extra).
Straw. There is a good demand for both oaten and wheaten which soil at Lis for oaten and 10s tor wheat, uex
