The pale blue milk, the high-priced Expensive butter, flour, and meat, May drive us city folks to beg, Or else to buy a country seat. I think I'll purchase me a farm— The thought is not devoid of charm. To rise up in tke sunny morn, And make perfume from new mown hay, To grind the coffee and the corn, Enough to last throughout the day, To milk the honey from the bet— Ah, rural life appeals to me ! I'd plant my egg plants all in rows, And have freeh eggs throughout the year, I'd lind out where the milkweed grows And sell the milk when milk is dear. The butternut should me supply With butter—not the butterfly,
